Center for IT Innovation and DI-ITEK begin cooperation

Danish Industries' organization for IT, tele, electronics and communications (DI-TEK) and Center for IT Innovation at the University of Copenhagen will together fulfill an important task. Working together we will map out the IT-competences that the private sector needs. The University of Copenhagen can use this knowledge to design study programs with a strong market potential, which can ensure students and the private sector relevant IT-domain-competences, or in other words, IT-competences linked with knowledge in certain fields, such as the health sector, media- and communication sector or the transport sector.

The University of Copenhagen has created an IT-catalyst by establishing Center for IT Innovation, which will lead to education of many highly competent interdisciplinary IT-graduates to secure Denmark's competitive power.

The cooperation with DI-ITEK, which counts most of the IT-enterprises in Denmark, is strategically important for the University of Copenhagen, but for DI-ITEK as well. The University of Copenhagen concentrate on educating more IT-graduates and  we are dependent on the IT-business' knowledge of the challenges of tomorrow compared to needs for competences. The members of DI-ITEK are correspondingly dependent on the challenges being molded into new study programs.
